Ahh... Home At Last!
We made it home! It's so nice to be back!
Today we had a lazy morning at home and then had lunch with the parents at the General Store (I love their sandwiches!) Afterwards I installed my dad's new stereo and helped Amy with some Photoshop stuff. Then at 2:30 we started to make our way to the airport. We got to the drop-off curb at Newark Airport (said our good byes) and had our luggage checked by 3:30. We quickly made our way through the security and to a few chairs and had a lot of time to wait. Whew... we were super early by it's better than being late. At least our seats are reserved (unlike Southwest.) We got some food and finally boarded the plane around 5:30.
Our seats were a window and a middle seat in row 6. The guy sitting on the outside was handicapped and couldn't walk (I had seen him before in a wheelchair.) We had to climb over him to get to our seats. He introduced himself as Ian and shook my hand. I knew I was in trouble when the guy kept nudging me with his one arm that worked. His left arm didn't work, so he did eveything with his right. So everytime he did anything - he would hit me his shoulder. The only way I could avoid his elbows was to cross my arms, but then his shoulder would dig into my ribs. Needless to say, the trip back was not fun. Neither Barbara nor I really wanted to drink much because we didn't want to have to climb over him. The trip back sucked. A lot of the times I would put my headphones on and either play asleep or really interested in the video (Santa Dlause.)
We have come to the conclusion that America West Airlines sucks, and we'd rather not fly them anymore. They do not offer any food at all. Just beverages and peanuts. The 5-6 hr flight has no food served!!! What the hell is the deal with that???
We got to the Phoenix airport on time (9:35 pm.) We got our luggage and I left Barbara at the curb while I went for the car. Everything seemed to go alright: We were on time, we got all out luggage, and the car was found and started up fine.
We made our way back home. It seemed like were gone for sooo long. We had a ton of mail waiting for us (had it all delivered yesterday.)
Ahh... our bed feels nice and comfy...
