A Different Kind of Anniversary

Yesterday passed, and without a single rememberance (which is a good thing) both Barbara and I forgot an important anniversary.
July 8th 2002 was the day we smoked our last cigarette.
We didn't do it cold turkey, but had the help of a little pill called Zyban. For me it was the second serious attempt to try and stop smoking. The first time was during college and ended when I came home from school and hung out with all my smoker friends in NJ. Soon afterwards, I was back smoking a pack and a half a day.
But with each other's help, we've both been able to stay 100% smoke-free since that day. Wow... 2 years of not a single cigarette! It's definitely one of the smartest and best things I've ever done...
And I haven't missed it at all - not one bit.
