  Updates
I've been slacking on the updates to the blog. I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but we've been extremely busy.

Same ol shit: work, school, life.

Work has been filled with deadlines up the wazoo (sometimes multiple deadlines on a single day... I have 3 proposals due in two Mondays!) Somehow school has been inserted in between busy days at work. Luckily my current class is online: 3 live online sessions and weekly recorded sessions with papers and projects - not too bad for a 9 week virtual class. I'm glad this shit is almost over. One more course left!

Speaking of being done with school... my wifey is almost done with her undergrad degree (she'll be done at the end of the month and then walking in October!)

So lets see, I say we're busy, but what have we been up to?

Well, first thing: Congratulations to Sam and Amy on their engagement!

Woo-hoo! Another bachelor party (hopefully) and a trip to Florida next year!

And the clock is counting for Bob and Nicole: 3 more weeks until their big day! (Check back after Labor Day to see some guys in kilts!)

Last weekend we had our (third) annual trip down to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco, Mexico). We went down with two other couples and stayed at a wonderful condo right on the water. My wifey met this guy that owned a brand new condo down there and was willing to give us the "family & friends" discount... we ended getting a great deal on a beautiful condo! We loved it enough, that we're trying to work out a "standing yearly reservation" for the first weekend in August.

This weekend was nice, but it seemed to go by too quickly.

Friday: At work, our department took a half day to go to lunch and relax for the afternoon. After a few beers and a full belly I relaxed at home until I headed out to Josh's for "bandnight." Bandnight (for me) goes back 6 years ago when I started at a previous job. Essentially, Bandnight is just an excuse to make some noise, drink some alcohol, and see some friends. After a long night of ear-splitting music and a bunch of beers (and I think one crown n coke??) I made my way home in an amazing thunderstorm. (We don't get much rain, but when it does rain in AZ, the skies tend to open up and you get some spectacular light shows.)

Saturday: We made a quick stop by my wifey's family's house and then went to check on our house. This time we were pleasantly surprised to find a decent amount of work done since the last time out there (about 4 weeks ago). Framing is mostly done, windows, fireplace, showers, tubs were all in. The baywindow (initially and mistakenly planned to have no door) was corrected. The roof was on the house, and the tiles were being rested ontop of the house for settling.

Afterwards, we headed to the opposite side of the valley to the outlets. She needed some things for her California business trip - she's gone all week :n(

Then today, we had plans for dim sum, but the other couple cancelled on us. That's fine - we were busy enough today anyway (although some dim sum sounds good right about now.)

Today was our shopping day: Mall, Target, and food. Nothing too exciting.

Did we really spend all weekend shopping??? Damn it. At least I got a couple nice shirts yesterday...

As you can tell, I'm livin life on the edge!

Comments:
For some reason, Fotki's "badge" (photo collage) automatically inserted a thumbnail of a contorted chicky in a blue bathing suit) I'm not really sure where it came from.
