  Mike Thai
Last night after we finally got our air conditioning back up and running, we decided to get ready and just go out to eat. By the time we came back the house would be nice and cool and we could just chill out and relax and possibly watch a movie.

So we headed over to Mike Thai. It's on the northwest corner of higley and southern in Mesa. We got there a little later, but they were open until 10. As we stepped in there was a 3 person party waiting to be seated. They took our name and we proceeded to wait (every single table was full.) This should be a good sign...

Two tables (in different areas of the dining room) started to free up, and they clear the food and dishes away. Since these tables were sized for 2 people, the server sat us before the other group. As I put a menu back on the counter, I heard one lady mumble something about being here longer. WHATEVER.

So we are seated, and when the server comes around for drinks we quickly ordered appetizers and drinks... need a few minutes for the rest of the menu.

About 5 minutes later, the table next to us opens up - and it's a 4 person table. The waiting group sits at this table.

We get our drinks and ordered the rest of our meal. About 5-10 minutes later the people next to us order their food (3 people).

We waited and waited and waited, and then about 25 minutes later the people next to us get all their food. Each person had 2 plates of food. Immediately afterwards my wifey got her soup. So was our order being held so the waiting group could get their food quicker??? I'd like to believe not, but it just pisses me off.

The whole time my glass was empty. We literally had to stop someone to get another drink. Oh, and by the way, many of the remaining people in the restaurant were finishing up their dinners and started to trickle out. So being busy is definitely not the excuse.

We get the remaining dishes of food - we FINALLY get to eat (maybe 30 minutes after being seated).

THE FOOD
The food was decent but lacked the extreme flavors of Thai food. While nothing was bad, it seemed to be seasoned/spiced on the more bland side. (I wonder if this is to cater to some more mainstream palates.)

Their portions were decent and their levels of spiciness were good.

The restaurant interior was nicely decorated in warm reds and golds. Each place setting has multiple plates all an intricate cut pattern.

We ate a lot of the food, but we had at least half of both of our main dishes left. So we asked for 2 boxes, some more rice, and a sticky rice w/mango to go. So then we waited... and waited... and waited. About 15 minutes later they came out and took our plates to the back, and then quickly came back with a wrapped up package of all our food.

So this afternoon, we were relaxing, and we were both getting hungry. LETS EAT OUR THAI FOOD!!!

My wifey says, "what thai food?"

I guess when they packaged up our food, they forgot my food! Those freaking rat bastards!!!!!

That was the last time we go to that place ever again!!! I would rather not eat Thai food than go back there. This place sucked!

If you want good Thai food in that area, go East down Southern to Power. On the north east corner there is Thai House. The place is much smaller, but their food is awesome and they are much quicker and much nicer! Their papaya salad is awesome!

If I was gonna evaluate: (1 worst - 5 best)
- Environment: 4
- Food: 3
- Service: 2
