Check this out . . .
I haven't posted an entry in my blogger in almost a week. . .
Back to daily life and back to the monotony of work and more work. Over the past week I've been starting to get that "itch" again. The itch of wanting more - the itch for something different. I'm not sure what it is or even how to find it. I guess I'm the only one who can figure that out.
My current thought is that Marketing (while being interesting and somewhat enjoyable) is not where I want to be in life. Where do I want to be? I'm not sure. There really isn't any money in it, and I don't think I fully enjoy it any more.
So lately I've been thinking about going more into a technical field. My problem is that I'm still trying to figure out where to start . . . I'm thinking of 4 different options:
(1) Go back to school and pursue graphic/web design. I can easily take a few courses and perfect my skills and build a portfolio
(2) Get a technical certification and utilize that to pursue a start in an IT firm
(3) Go for a MBA or other masters program or
(4) Try to expand upon my role at waterfield. This would be the most ideal... I love the company and the people, but I really doubt this will happen because of the current structure of the company.
This is my "dilemma" . . . I do need and want more!
Now that the work week has started up again I wish I was still on the beach...
Rocky Point is a great weekend getaway... We may not do Rocky Point like all the young partiers do, but we still had a great time. Maybe next time we'll head out to Bird Island. We had a guy approach us about taking a tour out there.
We got back from Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) today! What an easy drive! It only took us about 3.5 hours each way and there are a few stops along the way that break the drive up nicely. Being our first time down there we did all the typical touristy type of things (buying stuff at various shops, dining at typical dining places, etc.) But after a few days there, we've decided to go back a bunch more and next time do it "right."
The place (Princesa de Penasco)we stayed at was awesome! It was a nice set of beach front condos with beautiful pools and beaches...
Ok, I'm tired and need to get go bed soon. I'll write more about it tomorrow. In the mean time, you can view my
photos.
Yay, tomorrow we're going to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco, Mexico)!
IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
Geez... this week just seemed to last forever! It's been a typical week...
Work: blah, blah, blah... home: blah, blah, blah... and so on and so forth.
I'm just waiting till next weekend. Right about this time next week we'll be down in Rocky Point! Whoo-ooo!
It's gonna be fun.
I've been busy trying to get some of the revisions done on my caterer's site. Additionally, I'm tryin to get my site in some sort of order. At least in some order in which I can keep it for a while. Maybe I'll finally pick a design and stick with it. . . most likely not, but it's fun playin in the mean time.
So not much has been going on here... the house is good and starting to come together, Barbara is done with school for a few weeks, and work has been alright. Thank god we decided to go away for the weekend.
Next weekend we're heading to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) for a couple days. We got a nice condo overlooking the beach. It should be nice. Hopefully we have some good weather! I want to maybe try snorkeling. It'll be nice just to get away for a bit. Luckily this place is pretty close - only about 65 miles across the AZ-Mexico border (4 hour drive.) It should be nice...
Ok, while not being a racist or a Bush supporter... I do think that this is fairly amusing . . .
Three strangers strike up a conversation in the passenger lounge in Bozeman, Montana, awaiting their flights. One is an American Indian passing through from Lame Deer. Another is a Cowboy on his way to Billings for a stock show. The third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived at Montana State University from the Middle East.
Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim. The conversation falls into an uneasy lull. The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table and tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face.
The wind outside blows tumbleweeds, and the old windsock flaps; but no plane comes. Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks "Once, my people were many, now we are few."
The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, "Once my people were few," he sneers, "and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?"
The Montana cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a drawl, "That's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet, but it's comin'" |
