4 Parachutes . . .
An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 famous passengers on board but only 4 parachutes Left. The first passenger said, "I'm Kobe Bryant, the best NBA basketball player, the Lakers need me, I can't afford to die ... So he took the first pack and left the plane.
The second passenger, Hillary Clinton, said, "I am the wife of the former president of the United States, I am also the most ambitious woman in the world and I am a New York Senator and a potential future president." She just took the second parachute and jumped out of the plane.
The third passenger, George W. Bush, said: "I'm President of the United States of America, I have a great responsibility being the leader of a superpower nation. And, above all I'm the very cleverest President in American history, so America's people won't let me die." So he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped out of the plane.
The fourth passenger, the Pope, says to the fifth passenger, the rabbi, "I am old and frail and I don't have many years left, as a Catholic I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute. The Rebbe says, "Don't be silly. It's OK, here's a parachute left for you. America's cleverest President has just taken my Tallis (prayer shawl.)"

Wasted Saturday . . .
So after 7-8 hours of traffic school do I think I'm any safer of a driver? No, probably not? Did I learn anything? Maybe some tips for not getting a ticket, but other than that - no. Just another means for the government to siphon more money outta ya pocket!
Damn bitches!
I made a 7 am stop at Circle K to get a money order (the cashier knew where I was going as soon as I mentioned a money order - seems there's only one reason why you need them that early on a weekend morning!) Got some coffee and then proceeded to the Holiday Inn (where the class was going to be held.) I found the place very easily and made my way inside. The room was a typical class room with a tiny tv mounted to the wall in front and soda and candy vending machines in the back. I waited in line as everyone registered with the two instructors. All the faces looked the same: tired, bored, and lifeless. Come on... what do you expect at 7:30 am on a saturday morning.
After a verbatim dictation of the first 30 pages from a workbook (everyone received one when they registered) we got a break at 9:30. No one went too far - they didn't want to miss the 10 minute cutoff for the break (we were threatened that the time restrictions are placed there by the Arizona Supreme court so that if you come in the slightest bit late, you could be dismissed from the class - which also included sleeping in the class.) Geez... strict!
Well, luckily you don't have to take a test or really do much of anything. You just have to be there and be bored. Our class went through the material very quickly, so we finished over an hour early and my traffic school torture ceased at 2:15pm. Thank God!
Traffic School!!
Ugh... I have 8 hours of freakin traffic school to go to tomorrow! This is going to suck. Almost a whole day listening to some dumbass talk about driving. I really don't see how it could be the slightest bit enjoyable. Maybe I'll have time to come home during lunch.
I'm dreading tomorrow!
:n(
Slacker!!!!
Ok, I'm such a slacker! I haven't entered anything in my blog in over a week.
So two weekends ago I was in San Diego. This past weekend we went to Albuquerque for Jarron's christening. It was fun... we had about 9 of us drive out on Friday afternoon. Jimmy and I drove. It's a fun drive. The mountains from Payson and beyond are so cool! It's like car commercial driving! Winding hills - up - around and through mountains. Once you get into New Mexico, it starts to level out and is a little more monotonous.
After a stop in Holbrook and a quick bite at Blake's Lottaburger (sp?) we made it to Jimmy's parents' house around 8 or 9 pm. His mom had a bunch of food waiting for us and we quickly settled in and gorged ourselves on some good old motherly cooking. His parents are very nice and I think were loving all the kids in the house again.
We got up somewhat early on Saturday morning and got coffee at Starbucks and watched the balloons from the balloon Fiesta (from a distance.) It had rained that morning, so they were late for launching. Afterwards we headed to Santa Fe for a few hours.
Beside walking around the old town area of Santa Fe (less commercialized sedona feel) we saw a famous staircase that was supposedly built by St. Joseph. It was pretty cool.
The christening took place during a Saturday night Vietnamese mass. They did some things a lil differently than from what I'm used to, but in some ways it was the same ol' mass that I've sat through many many times when I was younger. Whether in Vietnamese or English it's still pretty much the same mass. Jarron was very good and only made a sound when the priest almost drowned the sleeping baby in his big dousings of holy water. Over all it was a nice mass.
After some Dion's Pizza, salad, and famous ranch dressing, Barbara, Paulina, and I went for a drive around the city so they could point out some of the old hangouts and familar spots. Wow Albuquerque is small. The trip only took about and hour!
We left midday on Sunday. After our bellies were filled with Pho and Starbucks (of course) we started our drive back in some gorgeous driving weather. We made it back to our place by like 6 or 6:30. Overall a very nice weekend.
So now we have a low key weekend of traffic school for 8 hours on saturday and relaxing/shopping on Sunday. Our next big event is only 7 days away! Lisa and Michael's wedding has quickly snuck up on us. I guess it's just cause we're not around it.
So we have a very short work week (Mon-Tues) and leave on early Wednesday morning (getting back on Sunday afternoon.) That weekend is going to be so much fun but also very tiring! Thank god we have nothing else major till possibly thanksgiving (possible engagement party in anaheim for Barbara's cousin) and Christmas back East.
2004 will be here so soon!
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
