Now This Seems To Make Sense!

World’s Largest Solar Power Plant Coming to Arizona in 2011

"The lucky sunny state of Arizona is about to become home to the world’s largest Solar Plant! Thanks to a just-announced contract between Abengoa Solar and Arizona Public Service Company (APS), the enormous solar plant called Solana will power up to 70,000 homes, and will be the first example in the country of a major utility getting the majority of its energy from solar. The 1900 acre plant will be completed by 2011 – IF AND ONLY IF Congress renews the clean energy tax credit that’s set to expire at the end of 2008..."

    No Rain

You would think living in Arizona one would not have to worry about rain, but the mountains to the East and North are getting hit with a bunch of storms. Tomorrow a small group of us are going camping near Show Low (3hrs Northeast of Phoenix up in the mountains).

I've been watching the weather and it's looking better as time goes by. I'm just hoping for very minimal rain. At this point there may be some scattered thunderstorms.

    Yeah, this should be interesting.

At least I may be able to get some cool photos.

... oh yeah, I guess I should pack my rain gear.

    Frustration

For the past two weeks I've been struck with some sort of virus or trojan that slightly hijacked my computer. Luckily now, I've finally taken care of it and everything is back to normal.

It was nothing more than the usual pop up windows and web page redirection. It even made my homepage timeout (which happens to be this page). So for two weeks I couldn't even view my own site. The weird part was that none of the computers on the home network could view it either.

I've been without my good ol Jame1030.com for a bit. So in my discouragement, I haven't been blogging much either.

Work has been building to a very busy second half of the month, and I see much overtime and weekends devoted to get some deadlines met. But like usual, you do what ya gotta do to get your shit done.

    On the home front...

After completing the back patio, I've been motivated with ideas, but we have no real plans to do much any time soon. Everything is good, and there are no problems to report.

I ran to my very first scorpion since living here in Ariz0na.

I was moving a pile of newspapers in the garage when I found a large spider which I proceeded to mash with a daily newspaper. As I shuffled some of the other papers, this guy comes out flailing it's arms around. Similar to the spider I proceed to smash the shit out of it... not before I grabbed my camera and took a few shots of this creepy creature.

Afterwards, I proceeded to get the gallon bottle of pump insect spray and went around the whole perimeter of the house and concentrated on doorways and the garage.

I know I'm being more than paranoid, but maybe we should start our home on yearly pesticide treatments.

    Some New Photos`

I went to a spring training game with my dad last weekend.
Here are some photos from that: Spring Training Photos

Additionally, we went to the AZ Renaissance Festival. It was my first time, and it was very interesting. We seemed to eat a lot! Of course I took my camera with me. So I took a bunch of photos: AZ Renaissance Festival Photos

    Is This Arizona???

So I guess it does snow in Arizona!

There wasn't much accumulation near us, but some areas around the valley had enough to build a snowman! (there was a photo in the newspaper)
