Me and le Wii
Yeup... busy as usual. blah blah blah. Work's been very busy... proposals and interviews@ We've been so busy since Rocky Point. Almost every weekend has been busy with things. So what's new? We bought a Nintendo Wii last Friday night. The thing is freaking cool! We love it! I guess we're a little out of shape - after a full weekend with a lot of Wii-time, we were both sore(head to toe)! How PATHETIC! So far we only Wii Sports and Madden 2007. I want to get Tiger Woods Golf! The boxing game is a good work out. My new car is awesome. I was pissed: just before 2 weeks of owning the car, I got a large crack low on the passenger side! Fucker! Oh well, it's bound to happen sooner or later out here. ok... I started this post a few days ago and never finished it (I probably fell asleep on the couch!) So now it's late Friday night, and I'm chillin in front of the tv (as usual). I just finished playing a round of all the Wii Sports games (except for boxing - it wears me out!) At work we just finished an interview for a major project across the street. Hopefully we win the job - it would be sweet! Otherwise, the wifey is away all weekend and comes back on Monday. She and the girls are out on their bachelorette party weekend to Disney. So I have a bachelor weekend of lying around the couch watching tv, staying up late, plenty of Wii time, and all-around being a big sack of shit. (Sounds like a good weekend to me!) Ahhh... back to the Wii! Labels: car, Disney, jeep, wifey, Wii, work

We are Kia-less!
We finally did it! We traded in my Kia Sorento and got myself a brand new 2007 Jeep Patriot. It's an awesome little SUV. It's considerably smaller than the Sorento, but this vehicle gets much better gas mileage than the gas-guzzling sorento. The engine is also smaller - so that will take a bit to get used to. I no longer have the V6 pickup... maybe that will get me driving slower. We got an excellent deal on the trade-in and a great price on the car. It's got the look and feel of a Jeep, but it still rides like a sedan. While there's less space inside, it still has plenty of storage room. There are some extra features (e.g., 17' wheels, power outlet, auxilary audio input, power options, and Sirius radio) that were not deal-breakers, but were included on this model and make it even better. At least I no longer have to admit to owning a Kia (even though they are a great value). ;n) Labels: car, jeep, kia, patriot, sorento

When Is It Going To End?
My car is in the shop - nothing bad, just to get a bumper replaced (I got rear-ended a few months ago.) So I've been carpooling with the wifey for the past few days. She gets up about an hour and a half before I do, and it's been really making me tired. I should go to bed earlier, but it just never happens. My idea of early most nights is going to bed before 2am... You would think that I would learn by now. I had my nice, strong Americano first thing this morning, but that seemed like it was only a temporary lift. About an hour after I got to work it seemed like I was tired again (and I've been that way since). My day so far has been consisted of checking all my news sites, looking at some images online, and overall trying to make myself look busy. Thank god we're carpooling - I have an excuse to leave early! I saw in the news today that they finally got Chris Benoit's autopsy results back. While they found Testosterone, Xanax, and Hydrocodone they found absolutely no steroids in his system. I'm sure that was a shocker to most people! So many people have been quick to conclude steroids were a contributing factor to the murder of his wife and child. So what does today's findings mean? Does it bring closure to anything? No, not really. One of the things that seems slightly unfair is that everyone is quick to blame the dead guy for their deaths. Yes, the obvious conclusion is that he killed them, but is there real evidence that he did it? Perhaps there is, but so far, from what I've read, the only thing their claiming is that bibles were placed next to their body. So why is the dead man automatically being perpetrated as their killer? I guess it's easy to blame the dead guy. Labels: car, Chris Benoit, news, wrestling

New 125 Miles per Gallon Toyota Prius
The Pennsylvania based Lithium Technology Corporation recently demonstrated a new type of "plug-in" Toyota Prius hybrid car. The new model is based on advanced lithium iron phosphate battery which allows the hybrid car to travel up to a distance of 125 miles per gallon of fuel – making it possibly the most efficient mass-produced car in the world.
This thing is amazing! Perhaps I need to jump on the hybrid trend and get me one of these. With a 70 mile round trip commute, this thing Prius could save some serious money. Let see... 70 miles per day x 5 days per week = 350 miles per week 350 miles per week x 50 weeks = 17,500 miles in work commute My car gets about 17 miles to the gallon (highway). So that works out to 1030 gallons of gas devoted to my work commute. The corner gas station has regular unleaded at $3.07/gallon. So in a year, I spend about $3,162 on gas for my commute. If I were to get this Prius. 17,500 commuting miles / 125 miles per gallon = 140 gallons of gas That is only $430 per year in gas!!!So in a year, I could save over $2700 if I had this Prius. That's just crazy! Read the Full Article HereLabels: car, environment, gas, hybrid, prius, toyota

A Decent Week
Monday was Presidents Day, and I spent the day at work. This is nothing new. In my first year of employment at my current firm I've spent many holidays and scheduled Friday Offs at work. We work 8.5 hr days and get certain Fridays off. It works out so that every month we get 2 days off (including holidays). At this point I'm not really complaining because they've been fairly good at giving me time off when requested. Certain circumstances have caused me to be very busy at work for the past 4 or 5 months...well, actually I've been super swamped since last July. We finally found a new person to replace a coworker that left 2 months ago. I'm hoping this works out. It will definitely help to lighten my load. On Wednesday I got into a minor fender bender while on my way to work. I had a young girl rear-end me on the highway. My car didn't have much damage (mostly scatches), but hers was banged up good. The hood was crumpled. The front grill was pushed in. I think her radiator was damaged too. Oh well, not my fault. Now lets see how their insurance company is to deal with! Ironically, two of my coworkers had accidents within 48hrs of my accident, and I almost had another accident this evening! This one was no my fault either. The weekend is close. How did March come so quickly? It's crazy. I'm starting to get tired of having dirt and dust everywhere outside our house. We really need to figure out what we're going to do with the front and back yards. Ok, can this Anna Nicole thing just be over? I'm tired of the news going on and on about this crap. Does anyone really give a shit anymore? Labels: car, news, work
